Saturday morning at 4:32 a.m., Amarillo Police responded to an assault involving a weapon on the 400 block of South Tennessee.
As officers and medical personnel were inroute, details emerged that a woman had shot the man in the head.
Upon arrival officers located 30-year-old Kricynthia Lashawn Black standing on the porch of the residence along with 6 children (ages from 3 to 12).
Black told police that the man was in the bedroom. The officer went inside and located the 34-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the head. The male was conscious and speaking with officers about what happened.
As medical personnel arrived, the victim was loaded in an ambulance and taken to a local hospital. Upon arrival at the hospital and the man’s condition deteriorated.
Black was taken into custody and later transported to the Potter County Detention Center.
The 6 children were taken from the residence and released to CPS after being interviewed by authorities.
The victim remains in the hospital with life threatening injuries.
Black was booked into the Potter County Detention Center for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
