Amber Alert Issued Sunday Night for 16-Year-Old Girl

UPDATE: At about 5:00 a.am. (CDT), New Mexico State Police said, “She was located in Santa Rosa, NM and is okay. The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.”

A few minutes after 11:00 pm Sunday night, the New Mexico State Police sent out notice of an Amber Alert for Victoria Teakell, 16, who went missing from Roosevelt County – just south of Portales. 


MissingKids.org said, “The child is believed to have been forcibly abducted.”

THE FOLLOWING IS AN AMBER ALERT FOR THE ROOSEVELT COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT. Please contact the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Department for questions at 575-356-4408.

Victoria Teakell was last seen today in Roosevelt County around 4:00 p.m. Victoria Teakell is described as a sixteen year old Hispanic female, approximately five feet four inches tall, weighing 125 pounds, with brown eyes and long black hair.  Victoria was last seen wearing a black ankle-length skirt, black slip-on dress shoes, a multi-colored plaid button-up dress shirt with pink and purple.

An unknown vehicle, possibly an SUV, was seen by a witness where Victoria was last observed near South Roosevelt Road U and South Roosevelt Road 9, approximately six miles outside Portales, NM.
