Several South Plains residents were celebrated and honored by the American Red Cross as local heroes Saturday morning.
A Champions Breakfast was held at the AeroCare facility at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.
Proceeds from the breakfast went to disaster relief and emergency services.
Earlier this year, the local American Red Cross asked for individuals to be nominated as local heroes in several categories.
The nominees could be a friend or family member, a neighbor, a co-worker, a firefighter, police officer, or a medical professional.
