An arrest was made Wednesday in Amarillo following the June 8 death of a 3-year-old boy.

According to Amarillo Police, detectives obtained an arrest warrant out of Randall County for Laura Alethia Garrison, 44.

Garrison was charged with Injury to a Child.  She turned herself in at the Randall County Jail.

In June, officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of South Bowie Street.  A boy was found unconscious and not breathing.

According to officials, the boy was transported to a local hospital and then eventually transferred to a hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas.  The child died on June 10.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy and ruled the manner of death as a homicide.
