Dustin Buckaloo, 30, of Lubbock was sentenced Friday morning to 13-and-a-half years in federal prison.
Buckaloo was arrested at Heritage Middle School in July. He later admitted that he made arrangements to meet in person with someone he thought was an underage girl. In reality, he was communicating with an officer who was posing as a 14-year-old girl. He admitted his intention was to have sexual relations.
He pleaded guilty in September to Attempted Enticement of a Minor. The penalty range for his conviction was no less than 10 years and no more than life in prison.
Buckaloo was already a registered sex offender for a 2005 conviction of Lewd or Indecent Proposals or Acts in Oklahoma.
