An article released by The Washington Post, entitled, “A Horrifying Look into The Mind of 9/11’s Mastermind, in His Own Words” details the day James E. Mitchell questioned the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks, Khalid Sheik Mohammed.

In the article, Mohammed states that he was unable to carry out a “second wave of attacks” because of the “ferocity and swiftness of George W. Bush’s response.” Additionally, Khalid Mohammed stated, “How was I supposed to know that cowboy Bush would announce he wanted us ‘dead or alive’ and then invade Afghanistan to hunt us down?”

Congressman-Elect, Jodey Arrington, was serving as an advisor to President Bush in the White House at the time of the 9/11 attacks. Additionally, President Bush ran for the same seat in Texas District 19 that Arrington will represent. After reading the Washington Post article, Arrington released the following statement:

“I was in the White House on 9/11. I saw, first hand, the actions of a strong Commander- in-Chief as President Bush resolved to immediately hunt down and destroy the terrorists who attacked our nation.

After 8 years of Obama’s weak foreign policy, the world is increasingly unstable and reeling from constant attacks by ISIS, even on our homeland. It is well past time to rebuild our military, call evil by its name, and stop leading from behind!

These terrorists underestimated America because they underestimated George W. Bush, ‘the cowboy’ from West Texas! On the issue of fighting Islamic terrorism – as well as other challenges facing our nation – we need a strong dose of West Texas values and common sense.
