Friday, August 5, 2016, the Buddy Holly Center invites the community to participate in Lubbock’s First Friday Art Trail, a program of LHUCA (the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts). Held on the first Friday of every month in venues around the city, galleries, restaurants and businesses open FREE of charge to display local and regional visual and performing art. A free trolley service to and from venues will be offered in the downtown area.
The First Friday Art Trail works to promote art and outreach within the community of Lubbock by providing an opportunity to enjoy fine art and entertainment.

Exhibitions at the Buddy Holly Center:
Natura Naturans will be on display in the Foyer Gallery June 17 through August 14, 2016. Melany Sarafis creates photographs featuring vistas of stunning natural areas – places with dark skies, no crowds and amazing landscapes. Many of these images were taken during her recent tenure as the Artist in Residence at Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona. This exhibit includes images from state and national parks and untamed lands in Texas, California, Utah, Oregon, New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona. The artist will be available to visit with patrons in the Foyer Gallery throughout the evening.
Girls on Film will be on display in the Fine Arts Gallery July 1 through September 11, 2016. This traveling exhibition from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, made possible through generous support of the CH Foundation, features over 40 images by photographer Anastasia Pantsios, offering a glimpse into the evolution of women in rock and roll and includes images of some of the most influential women in the music industry.
