Communication is key in giving your child what they want and need.

“To anyone out there who has children with special needs, don’t ever be discouraged about the milestone level that they are at,” said Courtney Sledge, “They need to just embrace because there’s a wonderful world of people out there that are willing to help them and we were able to get that through Covenant.”

Sledge says her 4-year-old son Caden has been improving tremendously in the last year and she credits and thanks the folks at Covenant’s Neuroscience.

“When he first started coming, he only used about one to two words, phrases, gestures, less than 50% intelligible when you spoke to him, decreased attention span so it was hard to do therapy with him in the beginning,” said Caden’s speech pathologist Bethany Cathey.

But through therapy play she  says Caden quickly grew.

“Now he’s able to use three to four word sentences, can sit at a table and do some structure therapy and can initiate conversation which he wasn’t doing,” said Cathey.

His mom says she knows it will only get better.

“As he got into pre-school this year and the exposure with Bethany and everybody here at Covenant Neuroscience we have seen tremendous improvement.”
