The Team Luke Foundation held a fundraiser at Cantina Laredo on West Loop 289 on Tuesday. The entire Texas Tech coaching staff made an appearance to take pictures and serve customers as they enjoyed live music from Josh Abbott.
“It’s all about community and that’s what makes Lubbock what it is. We are not a university in some big city like Dallas, we are out here in West Texas and the people are good and they care about each other and you always support your own,” Abbott said.
Texas Tech’s Kliff Kingsbury in attendance for the community and greater cause as well.
“Yeah that’s hard to pull off if you can get us all in the same place and not have other things going on, so only Tim could pull that off and I know we are all honored to be here,” Kingsbury said.
An auction event was also held with package deals to road football games, a Dallas Cowboys games and even a package deal to the U.S. Open.
Tim Siegel, Luke’s father, adding he hopes the night is a big success.
“You know, every day I am humbled by the support we get and tonight is probably the highlight.”
