On the 5th of December at approximately 10:45 P.M., Big Spring Police Department officers were dispatched to Scenic Mountain Medical Center in reference to a gunshot victim. Officers arrived at the emergency room and contacted the victim identified as Trig Gilkey White/Male 20 years of age. Gilkey informed officers that he had been walking in an alley between Wood and Sycamore St. when he was shot multiple times by an unknown person. Gilkey was shot in the abdomen, shoulder, and leg. Gilkey was subsequently flown by helicopter to University Medical Center in Lubbock for his injuries sustained.
Big Spring Police Department officers located the crime scene in the alley of the 1500 block of Wood and Sycamore where officers located evidence of the shooting.
The Big Spring Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating this incident. Gilkey’s condition was unknown at the time of this release.
