On Saturday, April 1, 2017 Family Guidance & Outreach Center will host a Memory Ride and Remembrance Event in honor of the Texas children who lost their lives in 2016 as a result of child abuse and neglect. This event will start at 3:30 p.m. at the Lubbock County Courthouse Gazebo (904 Broadway) where motorcyclists and classic car enthusiasts will gather to be escorted by Lubbock Police Department on a ride to Wild West Harley Davidson and back to the Gazebo. This event is free and open to the public.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. During this month, thousands will united to recognize that child abuse and neglect is prevalent in our community, as Lubbock County ranks among the highest amount of reported cases of child abuse and neglect in the state of Texas.

Bikers, car owners, area businesses and volunteers will come together to help raise funds and awareness for Family Guidance & Outreach Center (FGOC). FGOC leads the way in offering help and guidance by providing free parenting, life skills, anger management classes and school based outreach programs in Lubbock and surrounding areas to any adult or child that needs help.

Our goal is to show Lubbock and its’ surrounding areas that “It shouldn’t hurt to be a child.” For more information about Family Guidance and Outreach Center, visit FamilyGuidanceCenterLubbock.org, Facebook.com/FGOCLUBBOCK, or call (806) 747-5577.
