If you have driven through Wolfforth lately you may have noticed a new billboard advertisement with only one word on it, FORGIVE. Rhonda Hartman, the owner of the advertisement said she was inspired by another similar billboard.
“My mom had seen a similar billboard right outside of Ruidoso. She just talked about how much it impacted her and what mom said stuck with me. I wish I knew who put the billboard up outside of Ruidoso, perhaps they saw a similar billboard somewhere else. I am just passing on the message,” said Hartman.
Hartman said her mom told her about the sign during a time in her life that she was struggling.
“It started last summer and personally I was going through a lot of stuff, I was harboring a lot of bitterness and resentment,” said Hartman.
So then she said she decided she wanted to share the message of forgiveness with the people of the south plains. She said it also has helped her heal.
“I pass the billboard and it really makes me stop and pause, it speaks to me because it has been a journey of forgiveness. It’s my prayer that people drive by and see the sign maybe they will pause for a moment and remember to forgive others,” said Hartman.
