The City of Amherst has lifted the boil water notice that was in place for residents.
Lab results on samples indicated the water in the city is safe for consuming.
The boil water notice was issued Sunday afternoon following a main water line break.
Repair crews spent several hours repairing the water line Sunday.
The water samples were then sent to a lab for testing Monday morning.
