A boil water order remains in effect for Lamb County residents on the City of Littlefield’s water system.
The order was issued Saturday afternoon due to a large water main being ruptured by a contractor.
City officials said Monday morning that water samples had been taken to the nearest testing laboratory in Lubbock. Priority has been requested and the results will be available Tuesday morning at the latest.
This boil order was put into place as a precautionary measure to ensure the utmost safety for our customers and our water system.
The City of Littlefield said they do anticipate any signs of contamination due to the severe leak.
