Bomb Scare Arrest, Thursday in Hobbs

On Thursday, May 12, 2016 at approximately 12:08 p.m. officers with the Hobbs Police Department responded to the area of the 1800 block of North Turner Street in reference to a bomb threat. Several local businesses were evacuated and traffic was detoured for approximately two hours while officers and the Hobbs Police Department Explosive Detection K9 searched the area.  There were no explosive devices located.

Amy Valdez, 30, of Hobbs, has been arrested and charged with Bomb Scares Unlawful (4th Degree Felony). She is being held in the Hobbs Police Detention Facility pending arraignment in Hobbs Magistrate Court.
