On Saturday, Borger Police Officer Brian Earls was arrested by the Hutchinson County Sheriff’s Office for assault of a family member, a class A misdemeanor.
“A protective order was issued by a magistrate,” police said.
Police also said, “Additional charges are pending on the other party involved.”
Earls was taken to the Randall County Sheriff’s Office. He was held overnight and later bonded out.
An internal affairs investigation was concluded Monday and Earl’s employment with the Borger Police Department was terminated.
Earls had been in his current position for less than one year.
