The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is inviting the public to attend “Breaking the Mold: The Women of the Texas Highway Patrol” recruiting event on Tuesday in Lubbock. The event is scheduled for 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Overton Hotel in Lubbock (located at 2322 Mac Davis Lane, Lubbock, TX 79401).
“Our values are a critical part of what makes DPS one of the premier law enforcement organizations in the country,” said DPS Region 5 Commander Gary Albus. “We value diversity within our ranks and are always seeking quality recruits who want to join our mission of protecting and serving this great state. I encourage anyone – man or woman – who is interested in learning more about the department or applying for a rewarding career with the Texas Highway Patrol to attend this event.”
Women with the Texas Highway Patrol Division from around the state will be at the event to discuss career opportunities for women at DPS. In addition, a Criminal Investigations Division Captain, Texas Ranger Lieutenant and a Highway Patrol Trooper will be on hand to talk about their positions and possible career paths within the department.
