An East Lubbock man is dead after two robbers beat him and ransacked his home. His family members are asking for justice for Jesus Isreal Arce, 71.

“He was a respectable man, a hard worker, good man with his kids,” said Elias Arce Rivera, Arce’s brother.

According to Lubbock Police Arce was tied to his bed and robbed on Friday.

His brother Elias Arce Rivera said his brother died because of the robbers.

“Had he passed from a natural death we wouldn’t feel it as much because that’s from God, but what these delinquents did does not have God’s forgiveness,” said Arce Rivera.

Elias Rene Luna, 26 and Rudy Ramiro Garza, 27 were arrested for theft.

Family says the two stole Arce’s truck and destroyed his home.

“We came to this country to work hard and not harm anyone,” said Arce Rivera. “I’m suffering for my brother, I love him and miss him.”

Arce’s brother said it took at least a day for a friend to come over and notice Arce tied to the bed, he said his brother was tortured. Upon being found Arce was then taken to the hospital where he later died.

“These people don’t deserve to live because this is a disgrace,” said Arce Rivera. “This is a terrible thing they did.. it broke my heart.”

Garza and Luna are held in the Lubbock County Detention center on a $10,000 bond for theft. Police said murder charges have not been filed because investigators will need to prove Arce’s death was due to the beating and not to other health issues.
