A group in Lubbock will gather on the night of May 20 at the Lubbock Veterans War Memorial to remember veterans and soldiers who lost their lives because of suicide.
The following is a written statement from one of the event organizers.
Remember our Heroes, The Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 0900 and the VFW will be hosting the 2nd annual Candle Light Vigil to remember the 20 Veterans plus 1 soldier who die daily by suicide. We will gather on May 20th at 10:20 PM at the Lubbock Veterans War Memorial to bring attention to this growing tragedy. Many of the Veterans are Vietnam Vets. Please join us as we start with 20 seconds of silence remembering those who have served their country, but we have now lost.
