Loved ones of missing woman Zoe Campos gathered Wednesday night to mark a bittersweet anniversary.

Campos went missing November 17, 2013. She was 18 at the time, and would have recently celebrated her 21st birthday.

Friends and family gathered at Parsons Elementary to honor Zoe.

“I miss her, I miss her so much. I can’t wait to hear her voice,” said Zoe’s mother Melinda Campos.

“I can’t believe it’s been three years,” she said.

Attendees included Detective Adam Freeman, who is actively working on Zoe’s case, as well as the family of Elizabeth Ennen, who was found dead in January 2011.

“It’s really important that we keep all of these missing persons especially Zoe’s out there for the community,” said Jeni Castillo, of “Team Zoe.”

“We desperately need to bring Zoe home for her family. Her family has gone through a lot in 3 years of not holding your baby, talking to your baby, give your baby a kiss,” Castillo said. “It’s heartbreaking for us to see the Campos family go through what they go through.”

Zoe’s sister Savannah said she missed Zoe’s sense of humor.

“She was very outspoken. She’s got the biggest heart ever. She’s so funny,” said Savannah. “She had a good heart, she really did.”

“To be able to bring closure for the Campos family would mean everything in the world to us,” Castillo stated.

The Campos family released three balloons at the vigil: one for each year she has not been found. Melinda said she was grateful for the community’s watchful eye during these painful three years.

“It means a whole lot to me to know that the Lubbock community is coming out to support,” she said.

Zoe’s family said plans for additional searches are in the works.

“It really truly means a lot that’s she’s not being forgotten. That’s the only thing I hope and wish for is that her face is never forgotten,” Melinda added.

I love you, and miss you, and I promise, Zoe, I’m going to bring you home,” Savannah said.
