A Sweetwater grocery store received an early morning rush of visitors, but they weren’t paying customers.
Police responded to the Elm Street area early Saturday morning to find about 90 head of cattle roaming the Sweetwater streets.
Bringing the situation under control, the cattle were herded into the Brookeshire’s parking lot on the 500 block of East Broadway Avenue. Temporary fencing was constructed to maintain the cattle before they could be returned to the Nolan County Coliseum area.
It is unknown how the cattle escaped.
