This time of year, most children are focused on what they will find under their tree this Christmas, but Charlie Pitner isn’t your ordinary kid. Now in its fifth year, Charlie’s Coat Drive helps to provide warmth to the less fortunate.

As a first grader, Pitner heard of kids needing coats and decided that he could make a difference. In his first year, and with the help of the First United Methodist Church, Pitner collected 232 coats.

This year he has enlisted the help of Ready-Set-Go and Wentz Orthodontics to collect 1,250 coats to donate to Bayless Elementary school and the Bridge of Lubbock.

Coat drop-off locations are at Wentz Orthodontics and Ready-Set-Go. Coats can be dropped off from now until Dec. 18.
