This was a successful fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation thanks to Chop Chop. The restaurant participated in the “buy a star be a star” program for the month of December. Customers helped raise $1,550 to make wishes come true for kids here on the South Plains.

Daniel Blankenburg, the General Manager of the restaurant said, “We love Make-A-Wish. It’s an organization we have here locally that we’ve gotten behind. We love the fact that the money stays in our community. We couldn’t get excited enough about this opportunity to raise money throughout the month of December. What a perfect time to do it through the Christmas season.”

The restaurant and its customers really got into the giving spirit, in a fun way.

Tony Hernandez sold the most stars, 523. He said, “So many kids in need that don’t have this opportunity. The fact that Chop Chop was able to do that. I was glad to be part of the team that helped [raise money].”

And Jordan Perry, Development Director for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, says every penny helps.

“It’s huge, I mean our wishes are an average cost of $9,000. Every dollar or five dollars adds up.”
