City of Lubbock offices will be closed Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25, 2016, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, November 28, 2016.
Residential
In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, regularly scheduled trash pickup will not occur on Thursday, November 24th or Friday, November 25th. There will be limited trash pickup on Saturday, November 26th with normal pickup to resume on Monday, November 28th.
Residents with trash cart collection will have their trash collected on Saturday, November 26th and are asked to have their carts out before 7:00 a.m. that day.
Recycling
The City of Lubbock drop-off Recycling and Citizen Collection Stations at 1631 84th Street, 208 Municipal Drive, 7308 Milwaukee and 4307 Adrian Street will also be closed on Thursday and Friday. The stations will be open for normal operations on Saturday.
Landfill
The West Texas Region Disposal Facility and the Caliche Canyon Landfill will observe the following holiday schedule:
- Thanksgiving Day – Closed
- Day after Thanksgiving – Closed
- Saturday, November 26 – West Texas Region Disposal Facility 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Caliche Canyon will resume its regular hours
- Monday, November 28 – Full operations resume
Libraries
All library locations will close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23rd and remain closed Thursday, November 24th and Friday, November 25th. Regular hours will resume on Saturday, November 26th, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mahon Library will also be open on Sunday, November 27th from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Municipal Museums
Both the Buddy Holly Center and Silent Wings Museum will be closed Thursday, November 24th and Friday, November 25th and will be open regular hours on Saturday, November 26th and Sunday, November 27th.
The Garden and Arts Center will be closed Thursday and Friday. It will be open Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – Noon and open regular hours on Monday, November 28th.
