The City of Plainview has launched a new Development Map through Google Maps to increase awareness and transparency of large commercial projects being constructed in Plainview.  This map is the latest method of improved communication to be launched following Facebook, Twitter, and the Plainview, TX – My Community PublicStuff mobile application.

Plainview City Council continues to make it a priority for city staff to implement dramatic improvements in customer satisfaction and communication.

You are invited to view the map by going to the following link: http://http://www.plainviewtx.org/index.aspx?nid=357

The map includes project information for those valued at $100,000 or more.  Included is the name of the project, valuation, and a brief description.  The projects are color coded and there is also a project list where you can click on each one directly for more information.

The city will regularly update this map as new projects are added.  The map will include private sector projects, as well as public sector, such as the new Kermit Street backage road being completed by TxDOT and the new improvements underway at the Plainview/Hale County Airport.

“We are always looking for new ways to get information out to our citizens about the great projects going on in Plainview,” said City Manager Jeffrey Snyder.

If you have other ideas for city staff to improve communications overall, the city welcomes comments or suggestions.  Please email afreeman@plainviewtx.org with your ideas.
