Jaci Gibson and Juan Cuellar sued the City of Lubbock this week for a traffic accident in July of 2015 in the 2800 block of North Quaker Avenue.
Gibson filed for herself, and Cuellar filed for his son Noah Cuellar who was in a car with Gibson at the time of the accident.
Gibson claims a City of Lubbock truck, driven by city employee Oscar Santos, crashed into her car.
The lawsuit said, “Santos failed to drive in a single lane and failed to yield the right of way to [Gibson] as he attempted an improper turn/U-turn across the southbound lanes of N. Quaker from the right shoulder, resulting in a collision with [Gibson’s] vehicle.”
The lawsuit said Gibson suffered injuries to her head, shoulder, arm, neck and back. The lawsuit said Noah suffered injuries to his hip, neck and back.
The lawsuit seeks between $100,000 and $200,000 in damages. The city’s policy is not comment on pending lawsuits. The city has not yet filed its side of the story in court records.
