On Thursday, the Lubbock City Council will consider a five-year deal for naming rights to the City Bank Auditorium and Coliseum.  Since 2007, City Bank has paid $100,000 per year for the naming rights.

The proposal is for five years.  And on Tuesday afternoon, Mayor Dan Pope said the current negotiations are again at $100,000 per year.  But the mayor said that number is not final yet.

The mayor said the original renaming deal was initiated by City Bank.  Other facilities have potential value for naming rights, but the mayor said Lubbock has not marketed those venues.

He said for the right price other city-owned venues might be renamed.
