LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech senior offensive lineman Le’Raven Clark received the first of what could be several preseason accolades Monday as he was named to the Phil Steele Preseason All-American Teams.

Clark, a two-time All-Big 12 selection during his Red Raider career, was one of just two Big 12 offensive linemen on the All-American squads as he was a fourth-team honoree. Clark was also represented on Steele’s All-Big 12 preseason selections as a first-team honoree.

Clark, a native of Rockdale, Texas, led Texas Tech’s 12 total selections to one of the four All-Big 12 teams as he was joined by fellow senior offensive lineman Alfredo Morales and senior punter Taylor Symmank on the first team.

Senior running back DeAndre Washington and senior defensive end Pete Robertson, the reigning Big 12 leader in sacks, represented the Red Raiders on the second team while sophomore quarterback Patrick Mahomes II, senior wide receiver/kick returner Jakeem Grant, junior wide receiver Devin Lauderdale and sophomore linebacker Mike Mitchell were honored on the third team.

Junior defensive back Justis Nelson, senior defensive end Branden Jackson and senior offensive lineman Jared Kaster completed Texas Tech’s list of recipients on the fourth team.

The Red Raiders will begin preseason practice for the 2015 season in early August in preparation for the Sept. 5 opener against Sam Houston State at Jones AT&T Stadium.
