Ninth Judicial District Attorney, Andrea Reeb, announced that Robert M. Sena, age 28, of Clovis, NM, was sentenced on February 28, 2017, to 11 years in prison for Kidnapping, a second degree felony; Aggravated Battery Against a Household Member, a third degree felony; Aggravated Fleeing a Law Enforcement Officer a fourth degree felony.
In April of 2016, Sena led Clovis Police on a high speed pursuit, which police terminated when speeds exceeded 90 mph. The car Sena was driving later crashed and Sena fled the scene on foot. A female victim was found bleeding from multiple stab wounds inside the vehicle. Sena had gone to the victim’s home earlier in the evening where he kicked in the back door threatening the residents with a gun and a knife. The victim’s brother was stabbed while trying to stop Sena. Sena had stolen the victim’s car keys and forced her into her car where he began stabbing her. Sena and the victim have young children together who witnessed the crime as well.
The Honorable Drew D. Tatum presided over the plea and disposition hearing and sentenced Montoya to 11 years in prison. Sena will have to serve at least 85% of the sentence before being considered for release due to the violent nature of the charges. Upon release, Sena will serve 5 years supervised probation.
