Communities In Schools (CIS) of the South Plains will host Active Shooter Training Workshop on Wednesday, April 27th at the Lubbock Independent School District Central Office, Jay Gordon Room, located at 1628 19th Street, Lubbock, TX 79401. The one-day workshop will begin at 8:15 A.M. and end at 4:00 P.M. Participants will earn 6 CEU Credits and 3 of those will be Ethics.
Attendees will learn how to identify and reduce the effectiveness of an active shooter. They will increase their knowledge of what actions to expect when working directly with law enforcement officers responding to a situation. Attendees will be given safety strategies and planning skills to protect themselves and others involved in an active shooter situation. The second part of the workshop will center on adherence to ethical standards when it comes to responding to this type of tragic event.
The learning outcome for attendees is to increase their knowledge and practice action plans in the workplace due to an active shooter situation. They will collaborate and learn how to reduce the effectiveness of a possible life threatening encounter. Attendees will grow their knowledge of how to work directly with law enforcement due to this type of event. As professionals, they will be introduced to ways to respond ethically during and after an active shooter situation.
