A federal grand jury on Tuesday indicted Tyler Deon Knight, 20, of Lubbock for Conspiracy to Commit Controlled Substances Robbery, Aggravated Controlled Substances Robbery, and Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Crime of Violence.
Lubbock Police previously said that on January 27 someone robbed the CVS Pharmacy at 3401 82nd Street at gunpoint.
Three people, including Knight, were arrested for state-level charges. The federal indictment only listed Knight by name and referred to other suspects as “persons known and unknown to the grand jury.”
Tuesday’s indictment said Knight and others conspired to rob the CVS Pharmacy with planned elements such as a backpack, a gun, and a getaway vehicle.
One of the suspects held a gun at CVS employees and ordered a pharmacist to fill a backpack with Alprazolam and Cheratussin AC.
Alprazolam is also known as Xanax, and it is used to treat anxiety disorders or panic disorders. Cheratussin AC is a cough suppressant.
The federal indictment said the replacement value of the medication was more than $500.
As for the state-level charges, in March, Knight was able to post a $40,000 bond to be released from jail. The state charges were still pending on Tuesday.
