The Lubbock City Council decided on an official name for what was formerly called the Omni Building downtown.
The council voted to call it Citizens Tower.
The building, located at 1314 Avenue K, was informally called Citizens Tower for the past several months. That name is now official.
It is currently under construction, and city officials are planning to incorporate additional city offices to the structure once it is completed.
The council passed the resolution at Thursday’s regular meeting, in a 7-0 vote.
