Information about the arrest of Kody Climer, 45, was released Tuesday at the Lubbock County courthouse.
Climer is the son of Linda Gail Wilhite, 67, who was discovered missing on August 19. That’s the same day Climer was arrested but the criminal charge against him is completely unrelated.
An arrest warrant for Climer was issued on August 19 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A few days before the warrant, a police report said Climer confronted his ex-girlfriend at a convenience store in the 5800 block of 34th Street.
The report said he displayed a knife in the parking lot and was trying to get into an SUV with his ex-girlfriend. The police report said Climer struck the windows of the SUV but was unable to get inside. The report said he slashed two tires and then left.
On the day Wilhite was discovered missing, police searched her home.
Police said, “Officers located what appeared to be blood in one of the bedrooms.”
Police also said, “[Officers] also found the missing person’s medications were still in the residence. The family informed officers that she would never leave without her medication.”
The jail booking sheet listed Climer’s address as a residence in the 6100 block of 38th Street – the same address as his mother.
Climer was held Tuesday in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
