Lubbock Fire Rescue will deliver toys collected through the Andrew’s Mission toy drive.

Covenant Children’s (4000 24th St.), Racer Classic Carwash Performance Theatre (meet in main lobby)

EVENT:         
Andrew’s Mission, in its fifth year, involves a family who lost a child who wanted nothing more than to be a fire fighter. He was buried as a fireman with a full firefighter’s funeral. Lubbock Fire Rescue brings a fire truck and Santa to Covenant Children’s to deliver toys in memory of Andrew Jae Villarreal. Andrew passed away April 28, 2012 from hypoplastic left heart syndrome. He spent roughly half his life in Covenant Children’s, and his mom Sasha wanted do something in Andrew’s memory. She started Andrews Mission to give toys to kids who are at Covenant Children’s during Christmas. The drive has expanded and grown every year, with the toys lasting roughly through June-July of the next year.
