As the seasons change, you might notice a change in your health. KAMC News spoke to an allergist for tips to keep you from sneezing.
Dr. Goutam Shome said Lubbock has quite a number of different allergens, the most famous being the tumbleweed.
“Almost 90% of allergic disease will have tumbleweed with a significant factor here,” said Dr. Shome.
If allergies are weighing you down, Dr. Shome suggests using over the counter medications and nasal sprays. But those become less effective over time, and that’s when Dr. Shome would recommend allergy injections.
“Many people experience the long term benefit even after discontinuing immunotherapy after 3 to 5 years so yes we don’t have a perfect cure for allergy diseases but if anything comes to a long term cure, allergy injections is it.
