The sun is shining and the outdoors might be calling your name, but don’t forget the SPF.

“Here in West Texas, it’s hot and sunny all day long,” said Covenant Dr. Bryan Harris. “Just be sure whenever you’re out to apply sunscreen regularly and frequently.

May is skin cancer awareness month and Dr. Harris says many people are making the same mistake.

“The main thing people do incorrectly is not apply it frequently enough. You really want to put it on 15 minutes before you get out into the sun and re-apply every two hours or more frequently if you are in the water or toweling off.”
