Monahans Police are investigating the suspicious death of a person in an abandoned house.
Mayor David Cutbirth told YourBasin.com that police found a body in the home, located on the 1500 block of South Faye Avenue, Saturday morning.
Neighbor Jacob Summers lives next door to the home where the body was found. He says this discovery discomforts him.
“A couple days ago when I get home from work I smelt something dead outside and I was like man what, is it and come to find out it’s a dead body. I see one cop putting his hazmat suite on and I was like, something must be going on, pretty serious,” Summers said.
Mayor Cutbirth said police are investigating this death.
