The Texas Department of Public Safety said Israel Moreno, 34, of Denver City died at the scene of a two-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon 2 miles north of Denver City on State Highway 83.
DPS also said the other driver, Chad S. Osborne, 35 of Lubbock, suffered “incapacitating injuries” and was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock.
The DPS crash summary said Osborne’s pickup truck was traveling west on State Highway 83 while Moreno’s Mack Truck with a semi-trailer was going south on State Highway 214.
DPS said Osborne’s pickup failed to yield the right of way at intersection. The two collided. Conditions were cloudy but dry according to DPS. DPS also said the speed limit was 75 miles per hour and presumably that’s for both 83 and 214.
