Beginning Friday, September 30, 2016, the City of Lubbock with High Plains Construction will begin relocation of water lines along 18th Street from Avenue F to Texas Avenue. During the water line construction, portions of 18th Street, Avenue F, Buddy Holly, and Texas Avenue will be closed.
This construction project will also restrict access for traffic on 18th Street, Avenue F, Buddy Holly, and Texas Avenue.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the construction if possible and to use extreme caution while driving in the construction area. In addition, parking may be limited due to excavation of on-street parking spaces or construction equipment occupying portions of on-street parking.
