Mission Police arrested Mario Cardona, 59, Thursday morning for animal cruelty.
A video appeared to show Cardona dragging a dog behind his motorized scooter. It was shared on Facebook Wednesday night. In the video, Cardona was heard shouting, “Call the cops, it’s my dog!”
The Mission Police Department made contact with Cardona 15 hours after the complaint was filed. Cardona was charged with animal cruelty.
The dog, a German Shepherd mix, was taken by Mission Animal Control, and was said to be in good health.
