The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) was called to a two-vehicle crash this morning on US-287 in Moore County, resulting in the death of four people.
At approximately 5:19 a.m., Marc Joseph, 45, of Dumas was driving a 2011 Nissan Rogue north in the northbound lane of US-287 approximately two miles north of Dumas. Gregorio Avalos-Rivera, 69, of Spearman was driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla south (wrong way) in the northbound lane of US-287 and collided head on into the Nissan Rogue, driven by Joseph.
Joseph and passenger, Kenzy Sime, 38, of Dumas were pronounced dead on scene by Moore County Justice of the Peace, Sue Sims.
Avalos-Rivera and passenger, Jose Chavez, 57, of Spearman were also pronounced dead on scene by Moore County Justice of the Peace, Sue Sims.
All four people were wearing their seat belts.
The road conditions were dry and no other vehicles were involved.
