The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) today was joined by local officials for a grand-opening ceremony at the new DPS Driver License Office in Post. The office, which is located inside the Garza County Courthouse (at 300 West Main St., Post Texas 79356), opened to the public in August.

The two-person office will include DPS and county staff and is a full-service office. The Post office is part of a program created after the passage of SB 1729 (83rd Session) and expanded under SB 1756 (84th Session), which authorizes DPS to enter into an agreement with a county’s commissioners court to permit county employees to provide certain services at a county office.

Customers can also renew by phone at 1-866-357-3639. The eligibility requirements for phone renewal and online renewal are the same. The fee is the same for online, in-person and telephone renewals.
