The Texas Department of Public Safety on Monday said 3-year-old David Ojeda died on Sunday from his injuries in a crash.
DPS previously said a train and an SUV collided near Sudan late Saturday morning in Lamb County.
Authorities said a Chevrolet Equinox was southbound on Lamb County Road 115 and failed to yield the right of way to a train.
A passenger in the SUV, Ismael Ojeda, 48, of Littlefield, was pronounced dead at the scene.
DPS said the driver, Alicia Molina, 47, of Littlefield, and the boy were transported by AeroCare to University Medical Center in Lubbock.
