According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, one person dies after a crash on Highway 62/82 early Friday morning between an SUV and semi tractor-trailer.
Several hours after the crash DPS said in a written statement, “The SUV driver, Gregory Page Vandergriff Jr., 41, of Lubbock was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
DPS also said, “The driver of the semi, J Ricardo Garcia, 50, of Shallowater was not injured.”
DPS troopers on scene said the crash happened around 4:30 a.m. near Wolfforth.
According to DPS, the driver of the SUV did not stop at a stop sign, and pulled out in front of the semi.
