The Texas Department of Public Safety reported Sunday that a Muleshoe man was killed in a two vehicle crash in Bailey County early Saturday morning.

The accident occurred approximately four miles east of Muleshoe on U.S. Highway 70, just east of Farm-to-Market Road 3269, around 6:00 a.m.

Authorities said a Chevrolet Suburban that was traveling north on Farm-to-Market Road 3369 and ran a stop sign. The Suburban then struck a Ford pickup that was traveling east on U.S. Highway 70.

The driver of the Suburban was pronounced dead at the scene. The DPS identified the driver as Daniel Olivas, 29, of Muleshoe.

The driver of the pickup and a passenger suffered non-incapaciating injuries and were treated and releases at the scene.

The DPS said the crash is still under investigation.
