The Texas Department of Public Safety has released the names of the accident victims involved in a crash between a train and an SUV in Lamb County late Saturday morning.
The accident occurred two miles east of Sudan on Country Road 115, just off U.S. Highway 84, around 11:00 a.m.
Authorities said a Chevrolet Equinox was southbound on Lamb County Road 115 and failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming train.
A passenger in the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The victim was identified as Ismael Ojeda, 48, of Littlefield.
The driver and a three year old boy were transported by AeroCare to University Medical Center in Lubbock with incapacitating injuries. The driver was identified as Alicia Molina, 47, of Littlefield. The DPS did not release the name of the child.
No one was injured on the train.
The crash remains under investigation by the DPS.
