The Texas Department of Public Safety released information Friday afternoon about a crash near Slaton along U.S. Highway 84.  The crash was early Friday morning, and at least one person suffered serious injuries.  

The DPS released the following statement: 

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) worked a major two vehicle crash west of Slaton on US 84.

At approximately 3:50 a.m. a Silver Chevy Equinox traveling east bound in the left hand west bound lane of US 84 and a Chevy Trailblazer traveling west bound on US 84 collided.  The Equinox went into the center median and rolled.  Both vehicles came to rest in the rest west bound lanes of US 84.

The driver of the Equinox Zachary Buckmeier, @21 of Slaton, was transported to UMC with non-incapacitating injuries.

The driver of the Trailblazer Christopher Muldrow, 30 year old of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was transported to UMC with a incapacitating injury and also a passenger with Muldrow, Tracy Bowie was also transported to UMC unknown injury.

Alcohol is being investigated as a possible factor.  Buckmeier’s blood result is pending and crash is still under investigation.  Charges are pending.
