The Texas Department of Public Safety investigated a deadly crash Thursday after 6:00 p.m. DPS was notified of a one-vehicle rollover in Hockley County.
Specifically the address was East Ellis Street 1.5 miles west of FM 168.
DPS said Christy Lynn Swindall, 36, of Levelland was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer was on East Ellis Street when she swerved to avoid an object in the roadway.
DPS said the vehicle traveled into the south ditch and the driver overcorrected. The Blazer rolled
DPS said, “Jaynie Susan Sharp, 58, of Lubbock was transported to UMC in Lubbock where she was pronounced deceased at 7:51 p.m.”
DPS also said, “No seatbelts were worn by any of the occupants.”
Swindall and two passengers were taken to University Medical Center for treatment. The injuries were described as not-life-threatening.
