The Texas Department of Public Safety said Vaughn D. Poore, 74, of Ringold, Georgia died in a crash Wednesday afternoon in Mitchell County. DPS released information Friday afternoon.
DPS said Poore was driving a 2008 Freighliner with box trailer westbound on Interstate 20 in Loraine and the front left tire blew out.
DPS said, “The driver lost control and the vehicle went into the center median … went between two overpasses, and crashed onto the access road below.”
“The vehicle caught fire and burned,” DPS also said.
It was not known if Poore was wearing a seat belt according to an official crash summary.
