The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized more than seven pounds of methamphetamine Saturday after a DPS Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.
At approximately 6:56 a.m., a Trooper stopped a 2016 Jeep Patriot, traveling east on IH-40 near Conway, for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered six bundles of methamphetamine inside a dog food bag in the vehicle. The drugs are worth approximately $644,000.
The driver was identified as Breanna Adame, 23, of Irvine, Calif. The passengers were identified as Melanie Godinez, 27, of, Santa Ana, Calif., and Andre Hampton, 24, of Tustin, Calif. The driver and passengers were arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine. They were all transported and booked into the Carson County jail.
The drugs allegedly were being transported from California to Arkansas.
